
Katherine O’Callaghan is a Counsellor who completed her Mental Health and Addictions Diploma through Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She is recognized as an Associate Addiction Counsellor by the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation. Katherine calls Melfort, SK home and feels fortunate to divide her time between the community and the farm.
Katherine previously worked in Prince Albert, SK as an Addictions Counsellor, where she supported individuals facing a wide range of mental health and addiction concerns. Her work included treatment referrals, case planning, and providing support to youth and young adults. She brings experience in areas such as anxiety, process addictions, substance use disorders, trauma, abusive relationships, co-dependency, and crisis intervention. Katherine works with clients of all cultures and backgrounds and strives to create a fully 2SLGBTQI+ affirming space. She supports individuals across all age groups and is dedicated to offering inclusive, respectful care to every person she meets.
Katherine’s counselling philosophy is rooted in meeting clients where they are and offering encouragement throughout their recovery journey. She takes a holistic approach, considering environmental, mental, emotional, and spiritual components of wellness. Her practice integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and a trauma-informed care framework. Above all, Katherine values compassion and works to create a safe, supportive space for everyone she works with.

Outside of the office, Katherine enjoys cooking and baking, gardening, snowboarding, and relaxing with her favourite baking competition shows. She especially loves experimenting with new recipes and sharing them with those close to her.
